THE ALIMARA HOTEL AND CITYSENS: COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABILITY IN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY
The Alimara University Hotel andCitySensLabhave launched a partnership to develop an applied innovation project in a real-world hotel setting, with the aim of exploring new ways to integrate sustainability, design, and guest experience into hospitality spaces.
The project centers on the installation of plant systems designed by CitySensLab, made from recycled plastics sourced from post-consumer waste, which will be placed in various common areas of the hotel. These elements not only bring a sense of connection to nature into the environment but also highlight the use of circular materials integrated into the design of the spaces.

One of the most innovative aspects of the initiative is to examine how the communication of sustainable initiatives can influence the way people interpret and perceive spaces. In addition, the project will also examine how biophilic elements influence the well-being of hotel staff, as well as the operational challenges associated with its implementation.
The initiative is being carried out within the Living Lab model of the Alimara University Hotel, focusing on real-world experimentation that allows solutions to be tested under operational conditions with customers and work teams. This approach facilitates the validation of new proposals in a real-world context, combining hotel operations with the generation of applied knowledge that can be transferred to the sector.

The results will help identify best practices and generate recommendations for other companies in the tourism sector interested in incorporate sustainable, visible, and experiential solutions in their spaces.
Through this partnership, the Hotel Universitario Alimara and CitySensLabare reinforcing their commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the development ofscalable solutionsthat contribute to the transformation of the hospitality sector toward more responsible, experience-driven models.
